World Refugee Day
If it were up to me, every day would be World Refugee Day!
As we hear often in news media, NGOs, and other relief workers on the front lines of this immense crisis, conflicts in countries like Syria, Yemen, South Sudan, and others – combined with droughts, no tools to farm or seed, or anything to sustain crops – are pushing more and more people to flee their countries in search of safety and food. This is causing the global refugee population to grow, the situation is getting more dire, and we increasingly feel that the problem is too big for us to solve.
But there is hope! We can help!
Organizations like World Vision and UNHCR are on the front lines every day helping to provide a safe environment for people fleeing war and conflict. But they can’t do it on their own, they need your help. They need your money – yes, your money – to provide clothes, food, shelter, education, and other necessities for the most vulnerable people in the world, mostly women and children.
So, this World Refugee Day, while you’re out buying a fidget spinner, or a whopping $6 latte, or going to see Wonder Woman for the third time, take a moment to consider giving to an important organization like WORLD VISION or UNCHR. Wonder Woman would!
