Another tragic terrorist attack at a place of worship. Fifty innocent Muslims slain at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. The alleged terrorist was motivated by right-wing extremism and white supremacist beliefs – echoed in a lengthy manifesto released online.
Thousands of kilometres away, the murders have reverberated around the world.
The heinous crime was live-streamed on Facebook for 17-minutes before the social media platform took down the video and blocked 1.2 million re-uploads. Still, more than 300,000 uploads managed to slip by on various social media platforms.
