Speed skater Cindy Klassen talks about the pressures to get to the podium
Tokyo 2020 is proving to be historic for Team Canada. Penny Olesiak is now Canada’s most decorated Olympian with 7 medals. That honour was previously held by speed skaters Cindy Klassen and Clara Hughes.
Cindy Klassen tells Maggie John what it’s like to be an Olympian – the pressures, dedication, and hard work that goes into the sport. Klassen says she wouldn’t have been able to handle it all without her faith:
“My identity has always been in Christ, that’s what has carried me through all competition. I would always remind myself that He gave me this ability to skate.”
