Susan Ponting began her journalism and reporting career with Shaw Cable 10 where she won two Canadian Cable Producers Awards. After writing and reporting in the print world, she returned to television, as a reporter/producer on ListenUP! Lorna Dueck’s first syndicated program. While working with Lorna she was also a freelance reporter and writer with CBC Radio https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/concert-combines-music-and-painting-1.372641, Global Television Network, CTV’s CanadaAM, and The Canadian Press.
After working in mainstream media, Susan went on to the actor’s union – ACTRA http://actramagazine.ca/archive/ACTRAMagazine-2007fall.pdf where she further honed her skills in communications. Susan started her own business and began integrating her media and journalism experience into PR and corporate communications representing qualified, independent experts, filmmakers, directors, musicians, actors, and products.
In August, 2016 Susan returned to television once again to work with Lorna Dueck at Context Beyond the Headlines as Senior Executive Producer and Showrunner.
In 2019, Susan and her team, including Hannah Vanderkooy produced a documentary with a group of filmmakers who, along with Lorna Dueck traveled to Sri Lanka to report on the terrorist church bombings that took place on Easter Sunday – the documentary is called: Sri Lanka: Faith Under Fire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OtVP8ajsUM

Susan graduated from Ryerson’s journalism program in 2004, and also has a certificate in Strategic Communications from the University of Toronto.
