A jury of his peers declared a ‘not guilty’ verdict for Saskatchewan farmer Gerald Stanley. The 56 year old Mr Stanley said his pistol fired accidentally killing 22-year-old Colten Boushie. The jury believed Mr. Stanley’s account of a chaotic theft underway on his farmyard involving Mr Boushie and three friends, one admitting to attacking Mrs. Stanley. In the aftermath protests across the country. Go fund me campaigns have been started for the victim and the acquitted. The racial tensions in this case changing political agendas in Ottawa as the Boushie family went looking for answers.
