Sri Lanka: Faith under fire
Sri Lanka is still recovering from the Islamic terrorist bombings on Easter Sunday, 2019. Three churches and three tourist hotels were completely destroyed, more than 200 people were killed. Now, Sri Lankans have voted in hard-line president Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who is accused of, but denies any wrong doing in, war crimes perpetrated against civilians in the country’s civil war 10 years ago.
Lorna Dueck traveled with a film crew to Sri Lanka just three months after the bombings to understand how this multi-faith country is moving forward. This is a special condensed version of the 90 minute YES TV documentary available to stream on Castle.
