Why slowing down the spread of COVID-19 will help experts
Infectious disease consultant, Dr. Allison McGeer, says between 20-70% of Canadians are expected to get coronavirus. But health officials are trying to slow the spread of the virus to ease the strain on the healthcare system while experts find a vaccine or treatment.
“The goal is not so much to reduce the total amount of infections, as it is to spread it out over time,” Dr. McGeer told Lorna Dueck.
